Biography
In short, I am an artist, graphic designer, illustrator and web designer. By trade, I am an art director specializing in branding, a broad range of advertising design, and interactive digital and experiential campaigns. By nature, I am an artist who melds classical painting techniques with experimental mixed-media. I graduated in 2007 from Western State College with a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Business. I was also a student at the Classical Art Academy in Boulder Colorado from 2008 - 2009. From 2010 - 2011, I was a resident artist at Illiterate Gallery in Denver's South Broadway Art District and currently hold studio space in Wazee Union, which is part of the emerging RiNo Art District of North Denver
Artist Statement
I am a visual communicator. I convey concepts. I observe and appreciate imperfections because I believe they have the most to communicate. I also observe and appreciate change because I find that it is the process of interpreting and communicating imperfections as culture.
The single greatest thing I was ever taught was to learn how to learn. As a result, I like to experiment with various styles for various projects and various audiences. My style is diverse and always evolving. Diversity is important and evolution is inevitable.
I enjoy Rembrandt. I enjoy Rothko. I enjoy McGee. I work with digital and traditional media, then mingle the two.
My work is generally based on complex concepts, but my products are simple. I'm simply complex. I’m contradictory. Art is contradictory. I'm an artist.
